Firearms competency training and firearms qualifications are for those operatives looking to work in hostile environments and require confirmation of competency in firearms handling.
Tactical Simulations run a number of courses that are a combination of Live and Simulated training. Pistol competency will be carried out via simulation due to UK firearms laws.
Competency courses we run overseas will be run as Live training.

Private Military Security Companies must ensure that their contracted operators / employees are considered competent and safe n the use and handling of firearms.
An operative deployed in a high risk area or hostile environment must be able to handle their weapon system safely and competently by day and night.
During the firearms competency training course the operative requires formal instruction both theory and practical on weapon handling as well as guidence onthe Rules for Use of Force.

Weapons Handling Test
Students will be required to demonstrate safe, competent weapons handling as well as marksmanship to be able to apply controlled, accurate fire in a variety of controlled scenario based practices.
The operative must demonstrate that they are familiar with and competent with the implementation of Rules for Use of Force.
A pre- learning course training is required enabling us to spend more time on practical aspects of the course. This pre-learning course will be emailed directly to you.
The operative will conduct a supervised Weapons Handling Test in order to assess the operatives competence to carry out the following drills:-
The course must include formal instruction on the application of marksmanship principles.
A qualification shoot is required to assess that the operative has gained the necessary competence using a firearm.
The qualification shoot could be conducted using a set amount of rounds from set distances, from different firing positions under a specific time frame. Only single shot mode will be used to fire aimed shots at a deliberate rate from stable and recognised firing positions.
